I.T. Committee

I.T. (Information Technology) Committee** is responsible for overseeing how an organization uses technology to support its operations, security, and long-term goals. Think of it as the group that makes sure all tech systems are effective, secure, and aligned with the organization’s mission.

Services to The Missouri Assembly:

1. Technology Oversight

* Review and approve major tech decisions (software, systems, platforms)

* Ensure systems (computers, networks, databases) run efficiently

* Monitor performance and reliability of IT infrastructure

2. Cybersecurity & Data Protection

* Set policies for protecting sensitive data

* Oversee cybersecurity measures (firewalls, encryption, access controls)

* Ensure compliance with privacy laws and regulations

3. Strategic Planning

* Develop long-term technology plans

* Recommend upgrades or new systems

* Align IT strategy with organizational goals

4. Budget & Resource Management

* Review IT spending and budgets

* Approve major purchases (hardware, software, services)

* Ensure cost-effective use of technology

5. Support & Operations

* Oversee IT support services (help desk, troubleshooting)

* Ensure staff have the tools they need

* Improve efficiency through technology

6. Policy & Governance

* Create rules for acceptable use of technology

* Establish data management and retention policies

* Define roles, responsibilities, and access levels

7. Risk Management & Compliance

* Identify technology risks (data breaches, system failures)
